Samuel and Mary had no children. Will 3 Sept. 1736, proved 7 Feb. 1736/7. He was a cousin of John Bowers of Derby, son of Nathaniel Bowers of Newark, and a cousin of Moss Nichols, son of William, and a cousin of Mary wife of Jonah Tomlinson of Derby.
