Genealogy of Winfield Gallup and Florence Miles

Notes

Joseph Hills

Notes:
Joseph was an eighth great grandfather of Winfield Dyer Gallup who immigrated to America in 1638. Arriving aboard the ship "Susan and Ellen", he settled in Malden and Newbury, MA. His occupation in England was a Woolen Draper and this may have been his work in America as well but he was also trained as a lawyer, of which there were but a few in the colony in his time. As with so many of these early settlers, many famous and notable people of our time are descended from him. For a cause unknown, he became blind for the last eight years of his life.

Rose (Clarke) Dunster

Notes:
A brother of Rose, Henry, became the first president of Harvard.
