Notes:
Griswold was a Captain in the Revolutionary war in the regiment of Col. Joseph Harris. He lived at Waterford on a large farm called Alewife Farm and he did much to promote the separation of Waterford from New London in 1801. His will was made 18 March 1812. The inventory of his estate showed that he died possessed of $11,000, a large sum for those days.

Amos Gallup was a lieutenant in Capt. Eleazer Prentice's company in 1782. He was placed on the pension roll of 1832 of New London County. He represented Stonington in the Legislature 1805-1808 and 1813-1814; a Selectman 1804-1816; a Lieut. in Capt. Eliezer Prentice's Co. of Militia in 1782.
